Was ist AVT/ABA?

What is ABT/ABA

Parents often wonder about effective treatment strategies for their children. The following shows some articles for current therapy research. Evidence Based practices (EBP) such as ABA/ABT strategies and a short case example are presented. Additional papers will be added.

ABA stands for Applied Behavior Analysis and is based - similar to ABT - on learning principles. Unfortunately in Germany ABA is often confused with the Discrete Trial Format (DTF). Therefore the term ABT (Autism Specific Behavior Therapy) implies a wide spectrum of strategies for the spectrum of methods needed for individuals affected by Autism.  Besides the DTF Precision Teaching, Pivotal Response Training, Verbal Behavior, Videomodelling and Cognitive Behavior Modification are included (for additional methods, s. Wong et al, 2014 below).

We will share updates as new developments and research regarding EBP-methods appear for children, adolescents and adults with Autism.
